James Richmond
President, CEM, CEA, CMVP

James Richmond brings 30 years of energy management experience on small and medium sized projects to the present task of energy savings project development, including PACE project finance. He is a Certified Energy Manager, Energy Auditor and Measurement and Verification Professional, Association of Energy Engineers. James has vast hands-on experience with facility energy audits, data logging and baseline analysis for federal and municipal energy management projects from coast to coast. He is an experienced energy modeler using the Trace® software application, and is an expert user of Microsoft Excel. He has designed utility incentive programs and written energy codes. James has evaluated the cost-effectiveness of hundreds of energy conservation measures for hundreds of facilities. He also has specialized design/build experience with integrated renewable energy systems including high-efficiency boilers, geothermal, solar-thermal, solar-photovoltaics, and hands-on expertise with integrated controls systems. James has developed and managed $15M of California Prop-39 energy projects, and $12M in guaranteed energy savings projects for Colorado public school districts, including grant writing in order to fund them. He worked with ESCO design teams that engineered the conversion of four (4) US Naval bases from central fossil fuel plants to distributed geothermal heating and air conditioning systems. He has contributed his expertise to successful energy savings projects totaling over $100M in value and has learned through all these experiences that project finance is the key to successful outcomes.
